DEI Infiltrates Human Resource Departments

This title can elicit various emotions and thoughts in any person. Yes, the DEI agenda has infiltrated Human Resource departments thru out Canadian companies. Mainly large scale corporations are affected – But medium sized to smaller family owned businesses can also be infiltrated.

Human Resource departments are the gateway to a company’s identity. Mission statements and public relations do not reveal the true philosophy or ideology of a business. The demographic composition of the entire staff has a markedly stronger impression of today’s companies – compared to a decade ago.

DEI is a hot topic within the hiring procedures of many companies. DEI, for those of you who may not be aware, stands for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Equity – Not equality. The term equity can be misinterpreted and it’s enforcement can be vulnerable to an abuse of power. As an educated businessman, I fail to comprehend the novel definition of ‘equity’ with respect to hiring procedures.

Politics has become more invasive in regards to how companies operate their business practices today. Most businesses offer a product or service that the general public can benefit from. Companies have traditionally adhered to the concepts of economics, not politics. Provide an item of value to the public at large, for a price – receive a form of compensation from the customer. Milton Friedman and Simon Sinek are two great orators on the subject of the true meaning of economics. Neither gentleman has referred to the need for companies to cater to political theater by hiring a candidate based on race, gender, religion, age or sexual orientation. Yet today, it seems more and more prevalent that merit is the least desired trait when qualifying a candidate. The candidate’s color of skin or self-identity seems absurdly to be a ‘Competitive edge’. What has our society degenerated into? Just ask the great actor, Morgan Freeman, what he thinks about the subject of race.

Watch the video where Stephen A Smith rips on a journalist who attempts to make a case for hiring women over men, simply by way of gender? Now, the encouragement of more women to enter traditional careers – Such as policing, engineering and executives, is a good thing. However, a person should still meet objective qualifications if they pursue these careers. If you are brave enough, perhaps you can review the movie ‘Am I A Racist’ by Matt Walsh. The movie’s theme focuses on how an alarming number of corporations are being influenced by radical agencies who wish to reduce the number of white people being offered jobs.

The ironic observation about this DEI agenda, is that many Caucasian Human Resource managers seem to be on board to hire a ‘person of color’ over a white person? I realize you may be thinking that this article is subjective and mainly my opinion, but I have researched the hiring practices of several companies recently. Numbers don’t lie. Less than 10% of new S&P hirees represented white men, during 2022 (Daily Wire). Sources who work within HR departments have divulged to me that HR Associations and groups often encourage the recruitment of women over men, simply based on gender. Some of these associations, which are mainly funded by our Federal government, make HR personnel feel guilty, if they do not follow the agenda.

Personally, I only hire one webmaster at a time, to operate my online activities. I have hired four webmasters during the course of my business. Three were women. One was a man. My reasoning was based on merit – Not gender. The last three Laborers who have worked for me were all men. Not because I don’t want to hire women in this position. Only one woman applied for this particular position! Of the Laborers whom I hired, only one is white. Not because I discriminate against white people, but because I hire based on qualifications. The black man who works for me is loyal, honest and hard working. I don’t give a damn about the color of his skin or who he sleeps with.

DEI – No matter how one may attempt to justify it, is a form of discrimination, in my opinion. The incentive to educate yourself, develop networks and earn a promotion through hard work, disappears when DEI becomes ingrained within a business. Thank you for taking the time to read my article.
